he looked at the treadmill with contempt. why did i buy the bloody thing? he stared at it hard, concentrating all of his energy, wishing he could make it disappear, but try as he might, it wouldn't leave the dusty corner that had been its home for three months. he decided that getting rid of it would be a waste of a great place to throw dirty clothes. he got up from the couch he was sitting on and left the room, only to return 7 minutes later. he stood in the doorway. waiting. waiting. he walked over to the treadmill and touched the foreign buttons that made it roar to life. he stepped on the rolling rubber track and walked and walked and walked.
he walked for eternity.
